Fruit and Veg

Almost all of the potatoes sold through the shop are grown and packed right here at Arrow Farm. We grow many varieties, the most popular being Marfona. The Marfona potato has a light yellow skin, yellow flesh, with a smooth waxy texture making it the ideal all rounder for all potato recipes.

Marfona is suitable for:

• Baking
• Boiling
• Mashing
• Chipping
• Roasting

Great consideration is taken ensuring the best seed is selected for the production of the crop. The potato crop is planted in mid March and with the right weather and good management the new potatoes are available at the end of July. The main harvest however takes place in the autumn months. The harvesting machine does the job of lifting and separating the potato from the soil. Great care is taken during harvest to ensure the minimal amount of damage is caused. The potatoes are then graded into boxes and stored in a refrigerated store. The store is temperature controlled allowing us to supply the potatoes nearly all year round. The potatoes are re-graded and packed into various different bag sizes for your convenience ranging from 2 kg – 20kg.

Our vegetables are sourced locally wherever possible according to season so you can be assured you are buying fresh local produce and helping the environment by limiting food miles. A range of fresh fruit is seasonally available including a variety of English Apples (cooking/ eating), Oranges, Pears, Grapes, Lemons, Raspberries and Strawberries.
